Stephen King - Misery

I think the most of you know the book Misery from Stephen King - or at least Stephen King! ; ) .. There was also a movie about the book and the actress Kathy Bates got an Oscar for that role! It´s a long time ago since I read the book and saw the movie, but I still know what it´s about. And when I heared about the Misery play in Vienna I just wanted to go there and see it, even I thaught it wouldn´t be that good. Luckily I thaught wrong, because it was one of the craziest events I´ve ever been to!

The play has been in the "Schwarz-Weisser-Salon" in the Volkstheater in Vienna. This Salon ´s just one room - totally black - the floor, the furniture, the walls, the roof.. everything was black! under the cupola of the Volkstheater. You also had to enter the theatre through the second entree and not through the main.

Because of my leg I was allowed to enter the theatre as the first one and I was also allowed to use the elevator to get to the sixth floor! ; ) .. Otherwise it would have been a long walk for me. ; ) So I was the first one in the room and the theatre-guide showed me, where´re the best places! The tickets havn´t been numbered - you could choose, where you want to sit. So I was there nearly 10 minutes before all the others came and I could look at everything.

As you can see you´re really in the middle of the play and you got really scared! The actress, who played Annie was amazing! She was such a freak.. wow..she always run out of the room into the elevater and than the room was totally dark until she came back. The only light was in the elevator and she was staring inside the room whats happening inside. You really got goose bumps! It was an up and down with your feelings and the worse thing for me was when she ran totally angry to the bed with a sledgehammer only 5 cm away from my cast and than she "broke" the other actors legs. Wow.. it was really really bad for me!

For sure it´s complicated for you, but if you´d live in Vienna I´d tell you to go there and watch it by yourself! I told it all my friends that they have to go there! And I´ll now always look in which other plays the acress´s going to play, because she was so good that I want to see her again! =)
But no it´s not possible, the summer breaks of the theatres start next Friday and´ll end in the beginning of September. Hopefully she get a great part!
